EnergyPlus QuickStart Guide¶

Don't be intimidated by the apparent complexity of EnergyPlus; you can get started using EnergyPlus quickly using the QuickStart Guide which is part of the documentation. It shows you how you can use just an input file and some output files to start seeing results quickly. The building description, the detecting and solving of errors, and the most common primary outputs are found in the IDF input file, the Table.HTML output file and the .ERR diagnostics file. Starting with these three files and branching out to others as needed is a good strategy for learning EnergyPlus.
